Right out of today’s Star Trek Universe panel at San Diego Comic Con, the third season of Star Trek: Lower Decks finally gets a full trailer ahead of its August 25 return!
The first full-length look at Star Trek: Lower Decks‘ third season includes a heavy focus on the aftermath of Captain Freeman’s arrest at the end of Season 2 — and a visit the world of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, from dinner at Joseph Sisko’s restaurant in New Orleans to a rendezvous with starbase Deep Space 9 itself.

The trailer also reveals a voice cameo by J.G. Hertzler as General Martok, Rutherford taking a Delta Flyer-class ship for a ride (wearing a space-race uniform from Voyager’s “Drive”), Dr. T’Ana wielding a Starfleet-issue chainsaw in her sickbay, Mariner completing an orbital skydive right out of the 2009 Star Trek film, Rutherford and Boimler wearing their best Jake Sisko outfits, the return of Exocomp officer Peanut Hamper, Lt. Stevens running from Kukulkan, and more.
Entertainment Weekly also revealed this morning that a new alien named K’ranch will be part of an upcoming Season 3 episode. From a new species called “Kromsapiods,” the fearsome-looking alien comes aboard the Cerritos to chase down Brad Boimler for an as-yet-unknown reason.
Along with the new trailer, Paramount+ has also revealed a series of character posters which give Ensigns Mariner (Tawny Newsome), Boimler (Jack Quaid), Rutherford (Eugene Cordero), and Tendi (Noel Wells) a taste of the Star Trek III: The Search for Spock treatment.
In case you missed it, the Lower Decks Season 3 Key Art was unveiled last week, along with a clip from the Season 3 premiere during an early-July episode of The Ready Room with Wil Wheaton.
Star Trek: Lower Decks also stars Dawnn Lewis (Capt. Carol Freeman), Jerry O’Connell (Cmdr. Jack Ransom), Fred Tatasciore (Lt. Shaxs), and Gillian Vigman (Dr. T’Ana).
Star Trek: Lower Decks will return for its third season on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada on Thursday, August 25, and will follow on Amazon’s Prime Video service in many other international territories.
