SDCC Exclusive STAR TREK VI Enterprise-A Tea Set Revealed

Hot on the heels of their new Star Trek bottle openers announced last week, our friends at Factory Entertainment have another new drinkware plan for this year’s convention season!

July 14 Update: This has SOLD OUT at Factory Entertainment’s site.

Announced today — and up for preorder now — the company has revealed a replica USS Enterprise-A teacup and saucer set, a replica of the fine china used aboard the Constitution-class refit during the events of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

…as seen from the banquet with Chancellor Gorkon’s entourage.

While the original set-used teacups were found items with Starfleet labeling applied for use during production of the film, these are all new porcelain items created for the 2020 convention season.

Factory Entertainment’s forthcoming ENTERPRISE-A teacup-and-saucer set.

NOTE: This image is a prototype; this post will be updated with final-product images once available. (The curved text is already addressed!)

Here’s the official word on the new release:

A prop replica cup and saucer set, from the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A. As featured in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Crafted in fine porcelain, this set is suitable for tea of coffee and is presented in a gift box with a numbered certificate of authenticity.

This prop was seen during the state banquet scene where Captain Kirk and the Senior Officers dine with Chancellor Gorkon’s Klingon peace delegation. It formed part of a ‘Ship’s Dinnerware’ service, for state and formal dining. The props used on set where found objects with applied stickers.

This officially licensed, faithfully accurate prop replica features a silk-screened logo with metallic gold accents to the striking blue-marble design.  Saucer measures 6 ¼” in diameter.

This convention exclusive is limited to only 500 pieces.

Factory Entertainment’s release seems relatively faithful to the original prop, seen in greater detail via recent-year auctions, though with some slight adjustments made to sizing of the text and Starfleet delta.

A different version of the original props was seen aboard Captain Sulu’s USS Excelsior in the opening moments of the film — and later retrieved from storage during production on Voyager’s “Flashback” — without the gold backing behind the Starfleet insignia.

The Enterprise-A teacup-and-saucer set is limited to 500pc and is available for $30 from Factory Entertainment’s website.
