The rollout of STAR TREK BEYOND marketing continues today, with yet another set of posters for July’s film. Following yesterday’s international design featuring a group of the movie’s cast, Paramount has now released the first character posters for Karl Urban’s McCoy, and Sofia Boutella’s Jaylah.
Each character is eclipsed by a wave of Swarm ships and a bright flare in the shape of the Starfleet delta, just like in the character-based signage seen in Cannes earlier this month.
We expect more of these to come in the next few days and weeks, so stay tuned!
One interesting note, it seems that the Star Trek title is included in some international variants (like this crop of the German McCoy poster), so Paramount appears to be playing on cultural awareness of the Trek franchise in the United States.
Composer Michael Giacchino announced the start of his STAR TREK BEYONDscoring sessions today, to record the symphonic soundtrack for the upcoming film.

He’s even tweeting right from the conductor’s podium this afternoon:
After the STAR TREK BEYOND “fan event” and global teaser poster designs were released over the weekend, we thought it might be a few weeks until we saw more advertising designs from Paramount – but today, a new international one-sheet has been released featuring the cast.
Friday’s long-awaited release of the second STAR TREK BEYOND trailer hit the web at warp speed, and while we spent the weekend tearing into its hidden secrets – it’s time to take a step back from the story and see what’s changed since December!
We’ve compared a number of frames from both the first teaser and new trailer below, which all feature a significant leap in both digital design, color timing, and immersive effects.

While these shots have all shown significant progress since our first look in December, it’s a sure bet that the visual effects teams will be working to improve them even more up until the last moment before STAR TREK BEYOND hits theaters.
After Friday’s trailer release, it’s clear that Paramount’s big marketing push for STAR TREK BEYOND is underway.
In a new television commercial released in Germany, we get a few more glimpses of shots not included in either of the first two theatrical previews – though they’re not in very clear quality due to video compression.
Chekov (Anton Yelchin) and Kirk (Chris Pine) hike through the forest.Kirk bikes through the alien quarry. The Starfleet crew is marched into captivity.
We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more video content leading up to July’s release.
There’s a wave of new release dates for STAR TREK BEYOND now listed for twenty-one international locations, with many countries getting several-week delays from the primary July debut.
Much of Latin America now won’t be getting the movie locally until September – including Mexico and Brazil. Many locations in Europe are also seeing two-week delays from the originally-announced dates, including France and Spain.
Japan now has a much longer wait as well, and now won’t see BEYOND until late October.
There is some good news for Iceland, Croatia, Denmark, and South Africa, however, which will get their STAR TREK BEYOND premieres a bit earlier than previously announced.

In addition, several non-English versions of the official BEYOND teaser poster have been released. High-resolution versions can be found in our poster gallery.
After a long night out in Los Angeles all leading up to the debut of the new STAR TREK BEYOND trailer, we’ve gotten some sleep and are back in the game, ready to dig into the fresh preview of July’s adventure – with as much information as we can throw at you!

Even writer/actor Simon Pegg wasn’t too happy with the initial teaser, asking fans to “hang in there” for the next preview.Well, after six long months, the wait is over: the second official trailer for Justin Lin’s BEYOND is here – along with the first official poster!
We’ll have our usual comprehensive breakdown of this new look at July’s film soon enough — but now that you’ve had a look, sound off in the comments below and tell us what you think!
