It’s a Sunday surprise for Star Trek fans — after the trailer for next month’s new animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks inadvertently leaked online by way of the show’s Canadian distributor CTV SciFi Channel, CBS All Access has now debuted the official trailer for the rest of us!

The first real look at the adventures of Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Tendi, Rutherford, and the crew of the ‘second contact’ starship USS Cerritos gives us a taste of the series’ first season, showcasing life aboard the ‘falling apart’ Starfleet vessel, away missions to alien worlds, and lots of familiar Starfleet technology and aliens as we return to the Alpha Quadrant in 2380.
While we’ll be pouring over the trailer for the next several weeks ahead of the show’s official August 6 release date, here’s a few quick reference we already noticed!
Accompanying the trailer is a new, second poster for Star Trek: Lower Decks, which also features the worn, ‘folded’ look of the original one from last week.
