Mirror Spock & Mirror Chekov, PICARD’s La Sirena Join 2021’s Hallmark STAR TREK Ornament Lineup

Last year’s Star Trek Hallmark holiday ornaments were the first in a new line of larger “Storytellers” products, with built-in lights and audio electronics in these first inter-connecting display pieces — and for 2021, the company is continuing their plans with two more classic Star Trek characters.

Revealed this week are the first look at Hallmark’s take on the Terran Empire’s version of Pavel Chekov and Mr. Spock, part of the seven-character “Mirror, Mirror” series of Star Trek Storyteller ornaments that Hallmark announced in 2019.

Following Mirror Kirk, Sulu, and Uhura in 2020 — and expected to conclude with the Mirror versions of Scotty and Dr. McCoy in 2022 — the special run of episodic tie-in figures are once again expected to be the main offerings from Hallmark this year.

From our August 2019 report:

Each of the character ornaments contain audio from the episode, and will play back lines from the episode on their own — but when brought together, the ornaments will communicate with each other with built-in radio technology to replicate scenes from the episode where those characters interacted.

Once all seven $29.00 ornaments are released — Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, and Chekov — the entire set will work together to perform a cut-down, abbreviated rendition of “Mirror, Mirror” for owners.

The Hallmark Star Trek ornament fan site also published some additional technical details on the 2021 ornaments, from the soon-to-be-published 2021 Hallmark catalog, including an anticipated July 10, 2021 in-store availability date and the projected $34.99 retail price.

APRIL 2 UPDATE:

While like last year, the Star Trek Storytellers ornaments are the primary Trek releases for 2021, as the 2021 Hallmark “Dream Book” made its way to TheDigitalDreamBook.com today, revealing that the two Mirror Universe crewmates will be joined this October by the first starship ornament from Star Trek: Picard, Captain Rios’ La Sirena.

Retailing at $32.99 when it goes up for sale this October, the Kaplan F17 Speed Freighter ornament will be Hallmark’s first starship ornament since 2019’s refit Constitution-class, as last year the company took the year off from ship designs to focus on the launch of the Star Trek Storyteller releases.

2021’s new Star Trek Storyteller ornaments will be available this July at local Hallmark Gold Crown stores, and online at Hallmark.com.
