TrekCore 2020 Fundraiser: Help Keep Us Boldly Going!

We’re proud that TrekCore has been able to share our massive library of media content with the Star Trek fan community for the last 15 years — and we’ve rocketed to the front of the pack when it comes to news coverage on Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and more shows that haven’t even been announced yet — not to mention our live reporting from conventions and other Star Trek events throughout the year.

This fundraiser has ended. Thank you to all contributors who have helped us raise enough to cover nearly two years of upcoming costs.

Our site has remained proudly ad-free for the last 15 years, and we’re working hard to keep it that way for as long as we can going forward… and as the Star Trek universe continues to expand, so has our coverage and readership.

While we know how to stretch a dollar, and have been able to arrange for some creative storage solutions with our web hosting provider — especially as our traffic has continued to climb over the last year (we’re sure you remember when we went unexpectedly offline after Comic Con) — sharing these terabytes of Trek treasures isn’t cheap, with our yearly costs nearing $1200 USD annually.

With the generous help of readers like you, we’ve thankfully been able to cover the last year and a half of storage and server costs, as well as maintain and upgrade our TrekCore news blog software to help us bring you the best coverage throughout the year, and keep our continued software subscription for the Omega Sector BBS forums going to give fans another place to continue the conversation.

We’re hoping that you’ll once again help us keep our site warping ahead (without those annoying ads) as we journey through the next generation of Trek adventures, and continue to expand our current library of content over the next few years. While they may have done away with money by the 24th Century, we’re not there yet! If you love our site as much as we do, please donate today — big or small, any contribution helps to extend the life of this site and the resources we offer to Star Trek fans.

While we’re aware some fan endeavors rely on Patreon or similar fundraising platforms, that’s not an option for us. Don’t worry, TrekCore is a purely volunteer effort: any donations received will strictly be used for server hosting and site management costs.

Thank you as always for your ongoing support of our work, and we’ll see you “out there” in 2020!
