We’re less than two weeks away from the kick-off of 2019’s Official Star Trek Convention, and news arrived today that large contingents from the Star Trek: Discovery cast and Star Trek: Lower Decks production team will be making the voyage to Las Vegas!
Announced today by Creation Entertainment, almost the entire cast of Star Trek: Discovery is set to be part of the event, from series lead Sonequa Martin-Green to departed Season 1 captain Jason Isaacs — and more than two dozen others — will be appearing for at least one day each between July 31 and August 4.
Joining the guest list today are series regulars Sonequa Martin-Green (Michael Burnham), Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Sylvia Tilly), Anson Mount (Christopher Pike), and Shazad Latif (Ash Tyler).
Also set to hit the convention this year are Ethan Peck (Spock), Mary Chieffo (L’Rell), Jason Isaacs (Gabriel Lorca), Jayne Brook (Katrina Cornwell), Ken Mitchell (Kol, Kol-Sha, and Tenavik), James Frain (Sarek), and Rekha Sharma (Ellen Landry).
The entire Discovery bridge crew also gets to join in the fun this year, with Emily Coutts (Keyla Detmer), Oyin Oladejo (Joann Owosekun), Patrick Kwok-Choon (Gen Rhys), Sara Mitich (Airiam 1, Lt. Nillson), and Ronnie Rowe, Jr. (B.A. Bryce) all making their way down from Toronto.

In addition to the big group from Star Trek: Discovery, the first new animated series will also have a presence at this year’s Las Vegas convention: Star Trek: Lower Decks showrunner Mike McMahan will be leading an away team of writers to the event on Sunday, August 4.
Joining McMahon will be series co-executive producer Chris Kula, story editor M. Willis, and staff writers Garrick Bernard, Ann Kim, Ben Rodgers, Ben Joseph, Dave Ihlenfeld, John Cochran, and Dave Wright.
Those last two names will be familiar to Survivor fans, as in addition to being writers, Cochran and Wright each have been contestants more than once on the CBS-produced reality series.
“What about Star Trek: Picard?,” you may be asking: well, there’s not a single word about anyone from the new series yet announced to appear in Las Vegas… but with the massive info-dump we’re expecting to get on the upcoming show this Saturday at San Diego Comic Con, we’re expecting to see some news on the Picard front sometime in the next week ahead of the STLV launch.
We do, however, expect to see some of the props and costumes set to be on display at Comic Con make an appearance at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, keeping with CBS’s tradition for the last few years.
