Illustrator Jenny Parks’ whimsical Star Trek Cats book — featuring the crew of the classic Trek series reimagined as a feline crew of the Federation flagship — was a big hit when it arrived in early 2017, and now the four-legged versions of Captain Kirk and company are being brought to life in statue form.
Chronicle Collectibles will be rolling out limited-edition sculpts of Parks’ illustrated Star Trek Cats crew towards the end of this year, starting with Captain Kirk, Spock, and engineer Scott.
The three initial releases made their debut (in prototype form) at Fan Expo Dallas this weekend, showcasing Spock and Scotty on their “transporter-inspired display base,” as well as the large captain’s chair set to be included with the Kirk cat statue.
Information and preorder opportunities for the three Trek cats also went live on Chronicle Collectible’s web shop today as well, where more photos and information have been made available.
A starship captain should be bold, courageous, and ready to pounce on any new adventure that’s within reach. With Captain Kirk in the command chair, you can be sure that the U.S.S. Enterprise and her crew are in the right paws to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations… and to get plenty of naps.
James T. Kirk Cat is the inaugural release in Chronicle Collectibles’ new line of the legendary original Star Trek crew, reimagined as cats. Based on artwork by Jenny Parks, this adorable James T. Kirk Cat comes with his own official command chair so that he can direct the furry crew of the Enterprise. Just the right size for any office desk at 7.5 inches tall, this is going to be the right conversation starter at work that combines your love of Star Trek and cats.
A Spock Cat? Highly illogical! But wait, maybe not. Both cats and Spock peer curiously into the actions of those around them. Both have pointy ears. And both find the illogical and foolish emotions of humans a constant irritant. So, Spock Cat is actually the perfect convergence of felines and everyone’s favorite Vulcan. Fascinating…
Presenting the Spock Cat statue, based on the beloved art work of Jenny Parks that celebrates both Star Trek and cats. Sitting almost 6” tall, Spock Cat features him holding up his iconic Vulcan salute and carrying his trusty tricorder. He comes resting on a sleek transporter-inspired base with the Star Trek logo boldly featured on the front.
Every starship needs an experienced engineer ready to lick any problem, a miracle worker who thinks on his paws. Luckily, the Enterprise has the best cat in Starfleet.
Based on the much beloved artwork by Jenny Parks, Montgomery Scott, or Scotty Cat as we call him, comes holding a bottle of very, very, very old Scotch Milk… to stimulate the senses, of course.
Measuring 5” tall, he’ll fit perfectly in your collection or on your desk back at the office. Scotty Cat comes ready for duty in his bright red engineering tunic and stands atop a transporter-inspired base with the Star Trek logo boldly featured on the front.
Each of these Star Trek Cats statues is projected for release in the last quarter of 2019, but can be preordered through the links above at Chronicle Collectibles’ web shop now.
