If you weren’t able to be at last Saturday’s Las Vegas Star Trek convention when franchise luminary Patrick Stewart announced his dramatic return to a packed house at the Rio Hotel & Casino, CBS has now made his full on-stage appearance available for all to watch.

As we reported when the news broke last weekend, the once-and-again Starfleet captain will be returning to Trek television in 2019 in a new CBS All Access series, set 20 years after the last time Jean-Luc Picard was seen in Star Trek: Nemesis. Stewart was clear to set audience expectations for the the new show, still in early development, explaining to the crowd that it will be “very different” than before, featuring an older Picard who has been “changed by his experiences.”

Little is known about the content of the series at this time, but it will be lead by producers Alex Kurtzman (who introduces Stewart in the above video), James Duff, Akiva Goldsman, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Chabon, Heather Kadin, and Discovery writer (and Trek novelist) Kirsten Beyer.

We’ll continue to bring you all the news about this still-untitled Picard series as it breaks, so keep coming back to TrekCore for all the latest!
