For the 25th anniversary of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, the folks over at Star Trek Online are heading back to the Gamma Quadrant this June with a new chapter in their story, set to feature many of the original cast members of the Trek spinoff series!
Three of the best-loved characters from Deep Space Nine — Kira Nerys, Odo, and Quark — will be joining the game in STO’s upcoming “Victory is Life” expansion, and will be portrayed by series actors Nana Visitor, Rene Auberjonois, and Armin Shimerman, returning to their roles after nearly two decades. They’ll be joining J.G. Hertzler (Martok) who has been part Star Trek Online for some time.
More returning cast is expected to be announced soon, with GameSpot.com already mentioning plans for Alexander Siddig (Julian Bashir) and Andrew Robinson (Garak) named as additional characters coming.
In addition to the returning Deep Space Nine cast, the game will also expand for the first time to allow Jem’Hadar gameplay, with the soldiers of the Dominion joining the myriad of alien races that can be accessed in the game.
The “Victory is Life” expansion for Star Trek Online will arrive this June.
