Early last month, Star Trek Into Darkness actress Alice Eve wasn’t sure if she’d be back on the Enterprise for next year’s STAR TREK BEYOND, and in a new interview with Bustle she confirmed that her role in the new film is still unclear.
I’m not sure where they’re going to take it I’m definitely still talking to J.J. about where Carol is and her future and where we can take her.
The conversations I’ve had with J.J. have been about Carol’s trajectory in the ‘Star Trek’ universe, and this film is not necessarily J.J.’s film.
Eve’s comments are certainly based upon the fact that with director Justin Lin and writers Simon Pegg / Doug Jung at the helm, things may not necessarily be so cut-and-dried regarding Carol Marcus — Into Darkness guest actor Joseph Gatt confirmed at the Las Vegas con that all the plans for Science Officer 0718 went out the window after the script turnover following Roberto Orci’s departure.

Just yesterday, we reported that STAR TREK BEYOND is spending the week outside at the Pitt River Quarries near Vancouver — and thanks to Robin K., we’ve already got site photos.
It’s certainly difficult to determine what this place is being used for; the set at the quarry is hidden behind the plywood construction at the center of these photos, but we definitely get a great view of the size of the staging area needed to support an outdoor shoot in such a rugged location.

With all of Zachary Quinto’s recent selfie shots on social media, some fans have speculated that he’ll be wearing a Vulcan bowl-cut wig in STAR TREK BEYOND, rather than have his own hair cut in Spock’s classic style.
