Fans of 24th-Century Star Trek brace yourself! Next month, Simon & Schuster will launch a brand new series of novels connecting the universes of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine in epic fashion. “Star Trek: The Fall” is a five-book story arc that takes place over a sixty-day period involving “all aspects of The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine universes”. We’ve got all the information on the five books with cover art and synopses where available!

Book I: Revelation and Dust

Revelation and Dust comes from the accomplished pen of David R. George III. David is no stranger to 24th Century Star Trek literature with a hefty number of works under his belt including three novels in the critically acclaimed Typhon Pact series: Rough Beasts of Empire, Plagues of Night and Raise the Dawn. Book II: The Crimson Shadow

The Crimson Shadow picks up where Revelation and Dust left off but this time from the well known Deep Space Nine author Una McCormack. Niners will be no stranger to McCormack’s previous forays into the Deep Space Nine universe, with such titles as Hollow Men, the Cardassian-themed The Never-Ending Sacrifice and the TNG styled entry into the Typhon Pact series, Brinkmanship which features Captain Ezri Dax. Again, Simon & Schuster have made available a description of the second novel:

Cardassia Prime is home to a prideful people who, for centuries, forged alliances with those they believed would strengthen them and their place in the Alpha Quadrant, and expanded their empire at great cost to other worlds. Book III: A Ceremony of Losses

The third book in the series – A Ceremony of Losses – comes from one of our favorite authors, David Mack. Mack’s hugely popular Cold Equations novel series went down a storm with fans last year and his previous works (including the acclaimed Destiny trilogy and Mirror Universe novels) speak for themselves in terms of quality. Book IV: The Poisoned Chalice

Author James Swallow takes on the fourth book in The Fall series, The Poisoned Chalice. The novel is centered around the crew of the U.S.S. Titan, a subject Swallow is no stranger to having previous penned Synthesis in 2009 for the Star Trek: Titan novel series. Here’s this book’s synopsis:

One simple act, and the troubles of the United Federation of Planets have grown darker overnight. Book V: Peaceable Kingdoms

The five-book series wraps up in style with Peaceable Kingdoms from the pen of familiar Star Trek literary name Dayton Ward. Dayton’s contributions to the Trek-lit universe go all the way back to the Strange New World anthologies however he’s recently authored titles including the Vanguard novels What Judgments Come and In Tempest’s Wake – not to mention this month’s new Star Trek: The Original Series release From History’s Shadow.
